2015 Giant Seek 1

Giant's Seek 1 blends the versatility of a mountain bike with the smooth efficiency of a road bike for the ultimate city riding machine. The upright, back-friendly position on this aluminum steed gives you a great view of the road ahead, and the Shimano Alfine internal 8-speed drivetrain ensures effortless shifting and super low maintenance. Plus, the Shimano hydraulic disc brakes give you exceptional stopping power in any weather, and the 700c aluminum wheels wrapped in durable Schwalbe balloon tires will get you comfortably to your destination in no time! Giant even included a top tube protector so the frame doesn't get damaged when it's locked to a pole or fence as well as rack/fender mounts so you can customize it to meet your needs.

      Comments:

I know this is for the 2015 Models, but 14/15 are about the same. I don't understand why the SEEK models are not more popular for Giant? I love this bike and ride it about 60-90 miles per week. I call mine "Rolling Thunder" With those 29 inch wheels, it has great momentum. I am planning on riding this bike on the Rosarito to Ensenada 50 miler in September 2015.

        Comments:

This is a magnificently designed bicycle. It looks so simple but it is a sophisticated piece of equipment. It has a very stable and comfortable ride that just provides you the most confident inspiring experience. Very adept in the city for short or long commutes, for shopping, cruising or just for the exercise. May not be the very fastest, but it is quick enough to perform any errands you can invent. I have the 2013 Seek 0 which has a blue/grey color which gives it an urban/industrial sort of look, not the elegant look of the 2012 and 2010 models. In any case, this is a great bike that can be the last or only bike you may need.

          Comments:

I use the bike for commuting and fitness purposes. Pros - The hub shifter is great - no hassle, no fuss, no chain that falls off, etc. Bike is light, components are good, and overall is a joy to ride. Hydraulic Shimano disk brakes are awesome, breaking is smooth and authoritative. Seat is comfortable and the bike is stable - no weird quirks. Cons - you may have sticker shock at first, but the Seek 1 is worth the additional money you will shell out. I of course would like to see it cheaper, but if that means cheaper components, forget it. I'll suck it up for this great ride.

          Comments:

Just bought the Seek 1 a couple days ago. Took it for the first ride yesterday. It shifts really nice and is comfortable. The paint gets dirty easy. I know it is white, but I think the paint isn't as glossy as it should be. I have two white cars and the paint cleans up a lot easier. I plan on using it for commuting about 45 miles a day. Yesterday I got a flat so I added liners to the tubes. I will probably upgrade to a different tire late (Schawbe) to lessen the chance of flats. I added foot traps and handle bar extensions yesterday. I also waxed the bike in hopes I can clean it easier later.
