Comments:

I was looking for a good entry road bike without breaking the bank to train and ride at least 100 miles per week and after evaluating the Defy3, Defy2 and Allez I chose the Defy2 over the Allez for its more racy position (not as radical as the TCR). I special ordered it because it was not in stock and well worth the wait! The bike is great and does everything you ask it to, it handles very well, it has been comfortable, smooth and looks twice the price. The aluminum frame (same as Defy1) is great! together with the carbon fork soaks bumps and feels solid. I read not that positive comments about the Tiagra/Sora derailleurs but I keep the drivetrain clean and it shifts without problems although a bit notchy. The good things is that the bike is fully upgradable and changing a derailleur is not that expensive. Compared to the Defy 3 it has a 9 speed cassette, better crank and BB, lighter wheels, better handlebar/stem. That alone makes it worth the price difference, not to mention the red/black/silver finish looks nicer to me than the blue Defy3. I’m very happy with the bike, installed a computer and in a bit over a month (some days there has been bad weather I haven’t been able to ride) I already logged like 430 miles on mine and routinely lap riders on more expensive bikes. It is holding great, tires show minimal wear and grip well, feels solid and made of one piece yet light and responsive, I love it, would buy it again. This is my second Giant bike, the other is a Trance2 MTB, bang for the buck you can’t go wrong with this one!
